JOIN THE COMMUNITY

AT CAMPHILL VILLAGE MINNESOTA

Camphill Village Minnesota is a life-sharing, residential community of about 50 people, including adults who have disabilities. Our lives, work and celebrations are woven into the rhythms of nature found in the rolling hills, sparkling waterways, and prairie grasslands of Central Minnesota. Our community is deeply rooted in the belief that every individual, regardless of limitations, is an independent, spiritual being. Each person is part of the fabric of Community experience and is worthy of recognition, respect and honor.

Our community is one of more than twelve Camphill communities in North America. We are part of the worldwide Camphill movement comprising over 100 centers in 22 countries, serving the lives of children, youth, and adults with special needs.

Since 1980, Camphill Village Minnesota has provided residential and day activity services for adults with developmental disabilities in an inclusive intentional community. Everyone works together on our 525 biodynamic acres to grow organic produce, care for farm animals, preserve and prepare food, create artisan crafts, and keep each other healthy and our homes clean and beautiful. Everyone has talents and skills to offer that are appreciated and felt by the community.

Live-in volunteer

Volunteers live in one of our life-sharing homes where people with and without disabilities live together in a family-style home. They help care for & nurture these individuals. This includes supporting those you live with in daily living, therapeutic activities, skill building, and contributing to the household & community. Contributing to the community includes participating in 2 workshops daily. Workshops include biodynamic farming and gardening, baking, woodworking, cooking, cleaning, wood working, arts, and preserving our harvest for winter months.

Live-in volunteers are compensated with a comfortable lifestyle, rather than a salary. We cover the basic costs of living which include a private room, daily farm-fresh meals and snacks, healthcare costs, toiletries, student loan payments, transportation, vacation, and other incidental costs.

SPECIAL NEEDS ADMISSIONS

Currently Open for Admissions

Villagers are adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities living at Camphill Village MN.

All of our villagers have a wide variety of intellectual disabilities from birth due to cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Autism, other genetic syndromes, and brain injuries. Our villagers range in age from 18 & older & we work hard to build an environment that supports each person’s individual ability to grow & live well.

If you have a son, daughter, or other loved one who might be interested in pursuing Camphill as a future home, we encourage you to fill out the Villager Application. Once we have received the application then the next step is a preliminary visit—usually with family member and/or case manager.

If you have any further questions, please contact Mihyang by phone or emails.
